When A Heart Break’s….No It Don’t Break Even

We’ve all been there. HeartBroken. After a rough break-up, over something YOU THOUGHT WOULD LAST FOREVER. What makes it worse is when the other always seems to be over it within a heartbeat, when your heart hasn’t taken its first pump.

Been.There. AT THAT PLACE NOW

It’s been a struggle, not gonna lie. I mean, you give your heart to person, and the love is powerful, and it’s CLOUD 9 from there. Then in a moment, it’s THE END.

How do you HEAL?

How do you FORGET?

How do you MOVE ON?

FIRST, you have to realize it’s over, and take it in for what it is….A LEARNING EXPERIENCE. We are all guilty for wanting to hold on to something that you know can’t possibly work, and it only continues to damage our well being, and slows down the healing process. SECOND, keep in mind the world isn’t over! Just because you’re experiencing heartache at the moment, doesn’t mean you can never find love again in the future. Surround yourself with friends, find a hobby, find some empowering music, and get to know YOURSELF! In a relationship, we can at times focus on the other person way too much, and at times we lose ourselves. Take a moment to reconstruct your heart by committing to that special person, YOU. LASTLY, always have a positive attitude! Bitterness doesn’t look good on anyone; yes it’s going to take time to forgive, but we must let go. Running the other persons’ name through the dirt to others won’t solve anything either. Be GROWN about yours.

By all means, these steps are not easy; it’s going to take some time. Get to that happy place in your life, ENJOY BEING SINGLE; it can be a BEAUTIFUL THING.

Monica - Believing In Me ( with lyrics )

So a couple of months ago I was on my monthly “new music” search (I’m a music junkie!) and came across Monica’s latest album. Now I don’t know about ya’ll, but when I first give an album a spin, I kind of just run through the songs checking out the beat/tone of the song to see if it’s going to be something I play all the way through, or one of those albums where you skip-to-my-loop throughout it. Monica did not let me down.

I got to song #10. And stayed there. I literally played the song 20 times that day (my roommate was probably in her room saying “is there something wrong with her ipod deck?!”)

fast-forwarding to NOW. I found it only fitting to make this my first official blog. This song represents a part of NOT.USER.FRIENDLY so vividly. It represents the ability to accept yourself and worth, the ability to trust and believe in SELF when no one else does, to recognize reality and only accept REAL and to have the strength and courage to move on, let go…and let God.
